
The short answer: the honest 100-foot flagpole cost is a range you cannot close from a web page, because six of its eight line items are decided by your site. There is no single price, and any page that gives you one is quoting a component rather than a project. A 100-foot commercial flag installation is a small construction job with a piece of engineered equipment at the centre of it. What you actually pay is the sum of a mast, a foundation or ballast system, freight, an installation crew, electrical work, approvals, and the flag itself — and the four site-dependent items in that list cannot be priced from a web page.
That is an unsatisfying answer, so the rest of this article does something more useful: it names every line item, tells you which ones are quotable up front, and gives you a way to compare two quotes that are structured differently.
Two dealerships can buy the identical mast and end up with project totals that are not close. The mast did not change. The site did.
A property with a soft, high-water-table subgrade needs a materially different foundation from one on competent rock. A site in a high-wind coastal county is engineered to a different design load than one inland. A lot with a clear crane pad and a wide gate is a different install from one where the only access is between two buildings. A jurisdiction that treats a tall flagpole as a permitted accessory structure is a different timeline from one that requires a variance hearing.
None of that is knowable from a keyword. It is knowable from a site review, which is why that is the first thing any competent supplier will schedule.

Notice the shape of that table. Two rows are products. Six rows are your site. When a competitor publishes a single "cost of a 100 ft flagpole" figure, they are quoting rows one and two and letting you assume it covers all eight.

We deliberately do not publish a range for the six site-dependent items. We could invent one and it would read more helpfully than this paragraph. It would also be a number we made up, and you would carry it into a budget meeting. Every published dimensional and load figure on this site is likewise a target specification for a pre-production system, not a certified engineering value — final values are issued per site.

Where a supplier has bundled items, ask them to split it; where they have excluded something, write "excluded" rather than leaving it blank.

Budget the system from a published price. Treat the other six line items as a range you will close during the site review, and get that review scheduled early — it is the step that converts a vague project into a real number. Ask every supplier to quote in the eight rows above. And be wary of the supplier who gives you a confident all-in figure over the phone before anyone has looked at your ground.
